Tuesday – 7:15pm
Tempo / Social
Tuesday night sessions generally comprise of runs up to 5-7 miles. The sessions will vary, but ultimately fall in to 2 categories: tempo pace or endurance pace.
Tempo sessions will be aimed at increasing your pace & fitness at higher speeds. Perfect for anyone striving to increase their pace over a certain distance or to hit that next PB.
Endurance sessions focus on a much more controlled speed, to work on your baseline fitness and recovery. These session are designed to give your legs recovery and prepare you for running longer distances; along with making your tempo/effort sessions feel easier.
The trainers will suggest the session, but ultimately it’s your run. Everyone at REDS runs at their own pace & with their own goal. You can attack each session how you see fit – You’ll always be running with someone, nobody gets left behind, so never worry about your current pace or experience!

Thursday – 7:15pm
Interval / Effort Session
Effort sessions are designed to strengthen your legs, improve your form and increase your maximum pace.
These session are usually carried out in the form of short ‘repeats’, with recovery time between each effort. The repeats will be carried out multiple times (for example: 400m effort followed by a 30 second rest, carried out 10 times) – but the overall distance of the session will be shorter (to allow for the increase in effort). Sessions include hill repeats, track and trail/road sprints.
Learning to love these sessions will certainly improve your running. Like everyone at club, you might not fancy running up and down a hill 5 -10 times after a long day, but we’ll guarantee you’ll be patting yourself on the back when you finish.

Races, Events & Parkrun
Race Day Prep
The REDS members take part in various races, Park Runs and events throughout the year. So if you’re looking for your next challenge you’ll be sure to find someone at the club to recommend something to you and help with training.
Outside of the 2 weekly club sessions, many of the members meet up during the week/weekend to focus on their individual training or to get out and have a good chinwag. So it doesn’t have to stop at the club sessions, there’ll always be various groups training for different events or looking to have a nice social run.
